Aims: what to EXPECT
1. Educate teachers by sharing resources for teaching computing
2. Engage teachers to introduce computing activities into ICT lessons
3. Encourage teachers who might be frightened of computing to 'have a go' and share experiences and good practice with each other!

PROGRAMME - May 17th
The main focus is for this meeting is to continue learning how to program using Python. Our Oct 20th meeting was about using Scratch visual programming environment and our March 1st meeting was an introduction to Python. This meeting is ideal for teachers who are new to programming and want to discover more about it or have done a little and would like to try some more. This year we have introduced Python programming to Our Lady's pupils from Year 7 to Year 10. Come along to the meeting if you want to discover if it is for you, to meet other interested teachers, discover different ways of teaching it or maybe you are just curious.
No previous programming knowledge is required.

Computing at School (CAS)
Computing at School (CAS) is a membership association which aims to promote and support Computing and related disciplines in UK schools, formally supported by BCS, The Chartered Institute for IT. Its memberships is diverse, including teachers at over 500 schools across the UK, exam boards, industry, universities, professional societies, as well as parents and governors. CAS seeks to work at many levels, including directly supporting Computing/ICT teachers, as well advocacy at a national policy level. It has been heavily involved in the Royal Society Call for Evidence on Computing in Schools, as well as contributing to the recent National Curriculum Review in England.
